STARLETS

Our children progress from the Tweenies group into our Grade R and up. 70 to 80% of our children are able to mainstream after completing our effective therapies. We continue to offer children support within the mainstream environment through facilitator/ teacher training, supervision, behaviour plans and additional individual therapy to assist your child in areas they find challenging.

Children also have the option to join our Grades where we offer a higher level of support to our learners.

How do we achieve this? Our goal is to provide support to our learners allowing them to have access to an academic career.

  • The programme

Clonard, a registered schooling programme, provides us with guidelines and learning resources required for a specific grade, set and mark the exams and your child will receive a report from both ourselves and Clonard.

  • The method of teaching

We continue to apply ABA classroom strategies and adapt the lesson to meet each child’s preferred method of learning. We continue to use visual resources and hands on activities to support your child’s learning and their understanding of concepts being taught. Your child’s understanding of language is a requirement for success in the higher grades, where lessons are more auditory based rather than visual. Your child will receive a combination of group activities and individual therapies that address the skills they still need to master. Our programme allows your child to complete academic activities at their own pace and are given extra support in areas that they find challenging. Our method of teaching is designed to increase your child’s opportunities to succeed.
