Academic Grades
After completing the early intervention program, many of our children will move into our academic classes where our learners will follow a home-schooling program. The progress of The Foundation Phase students is continuously assessed throughout the year, while our Intermediate and Senior Phase students are required to pass their year-end examinations
The programme
Impaq, a registered schooling programme, provides us with guidelines and learning resources required for a specific grade, set and mark the exams and your child will receive a report from both ourselves and Impaq.
The method of teaching
We continue to apply classroom teaching strategies and adapt the lesson to meet each child’s preferred method of learning. We continue to use visual resources and hands on activities to support your child’s learning and their understanding of concepts being taught. Your child’s understanding of language is a requirement for success in the higher grades, where lessons are more auditory based rather than visual. Our programme allows your child to complete academic activities at their own pace and are given extra support in areas that they find challenging. Our method of teaching is designed to increase your child’s opportunities to succeed. Apart from our Academic Programme we allocate time for individual language programmes for each child, allowing them a greater understanding of the concepts being taught. Your child will therefore receive a combination of group activities and individual therapies that address the skills they still need to master.
