Residential and Respite Care

This service is offered by the Director in her home for up to eight children.  Children are often placed in residential care since they simply do not have any alternative home placement or because they present with behaviour challenges of such a nature that makes it impossible for the family to function as a unit on a day-to-day basis. These learners are placed on a behaviour program whilst in the residential care to modify their behaviour so that they can be successfully integrated back into the home environment. Children who are not reunited with their parents have a safe and loving home to live in. The children are transported to and from school daily. Our respite care services over weekends and school holidays, allows parents to recharge, spend quality time with other family members and for the child with challenges to participate in novel experiences. Taking care of a child with challenges, is exceptionally time consuming, respite care fosters not only better relationships between siblings, but allows the family unit to remain intact.
